Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Cylindrical roller bearings.
The construction of this type of roller bearing is the simplest of all radial roller bearings. This type of bearing is often used in high-speed applications. Because the inner ring, outer ring, and rollers are in contact and in line, this type of bearing has a high radial load capacity.
The configurations of cylindrical roller bearings are:
- N, NJ, NF, NU, RNU: whole ribs (flaps)
- NH, NP; NUP; NUH: whole and loose ribs
-
NN, NNU: double row bearings
Configurations with integral flanges or loose ribs on both the inner and outer rings can support a small amount of axial load. Since this type of bearing supports axial loads as a sliding action between the ends of the rollers and the flange faces, the axial load is limited. Double row cylindrical roller bearings are used for high speed and high precision applications, such as: Main spindle support for lathes, milling machines, machining centers
